The CPI moved from an annual rate of change of 1.0% in May to 0.8% in June 2015. This deceleration of the CPI was determined by the reduction in the contributions of prices of Transport and Clothing and footwear. Excluding energy and unprocessed food, the annual rate was 0.6% in June (0.7% in May). The CPI monthly rate was -0.1% (0.4% in May and 0.1% in June 2014), while the CPI 12-month average rate was nil (-0.1% in the previous month).
In June 2015, the Portuguese Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) annual rate of change was
0.8% (1.0% in May), 0.6 percentage points (p.p.) above the rate estimated by Eurostat for the Euro area (in the previous month this difference was of 0.7 p.p.).
