In national maritime ports there were increases of 3.3% in commercial vessels entered, 13.2% in dimension (GT) and 12.3% in tonnage of goods transported (+3.2%, +12.0% and +9.9% in the 1st quarter 2015).
Goods transported in railway mode increased by 14.4% (+11.1% in the 1st quarter 2015) while the corresponding volume of goods transported increased by 17.6% (+12.7% in the 1st quarter 2015).
The upward trend continues in airport activity with regard to the movement of aircrafts (+4.9%) and passengers (+10.1%) but at a slower pace (+9.2% and +14.3% in the 1st quarter 2015). There was a reduction of 0.8% in the movements of cargo/mail in national airports, in contrast with the increases recorded in the preceding quarters.
Goods transported in heavy road vehicles bearing a national license increased by 2.0% in terms of tons carried, contrary to the trend observed in the previous quarter (-3.1% in the 1st quarter 2015).
With regard to the transport of passengers, once again there were increases in railway mode (+1.9% from +1.8% in the previous quarter) and in inland waterways (+1.2% and +2.0% in the preceding quarter) while light railway system transport recorded a change rate of -0.7% (+1.6% in the 1st quarter 2015).
