Welcome to the 2009 Agricultural Census!

Statistics Portugal is conducting the 2009 Agricultural Census (Portuguese acronym: RA09). Through this large-scale operation, Statistics Portugal will collect data, which after having been duly treated, will allow for the dissemination of official statistics on the Portuguese agriculture.

The Agricultural Census makes a decisive contribution to characterise the country’s agriculture, population structures, rural population and agricultural production methods.

This area was especially designed for RA09 users and respondents, and information is made available on:

• Definition and objectives of the RA09;
• Stages and schedule for implementation of the operation and release of results;  
• Previous censuses and general agricultural information.

The success of the RA09 largely depends on the active participation of Portuguese farmers and the rigour of their responses.
