The success of the RA09 largely depends on a rigorous and accurate design and implementation of the respective work programme.

The conduct of an operation as large and complex as an agriculture census requires timely planning and careful preparation. The setting up of a work team, the establishment of the various operation stages and the defining of tasks and their scheduling called for prior preparation.

RA09 key dates:

• Questionnaire test - April 2009
  
• Pilot Survey (IPRA09) – 25 June to 24 July 2009
  
• Actual Survey (RA09) – start on 7 November 2009
  
• Release of the first results – 4th quarter of 2010
